Health Area Overview
In Feng Shui, improving your Health Area could help you and your loved ones live long and healthy lives.
Because this is the center of the Bagua and touches all other Guas of the Bagua, it really plays a supporting role to each and every one of those other areas.
Put another way, without good health, you can forget about prosperity, reputation, your career, etc.
- Primary Element: Earth
- Complementary Element: Fire
- Best Colors: Earth Tones & Yellow
- Complementary Color: Red
- Best Shapes: Horizontal, Flat, Squared
- Complementary Shapes: Pointed & Triangular
- Enhancements: Balanced Decor, Open Space, Candles, Religious Objects
- Destructive Items: Wood, Green, Columnar
The Health section of Bagua in Feng Shui is in the center of the Bagua.
As such, the Health Gua touches every other area of the Bagua, just as your health touches all aspects of your life.
Make sure to keep this area clear of all figurative cancers and instead feed it with the healthy nutrients that it needs. More on that later.
When you Feng Shui any section of your home, you must have good health in mind.
Only in good health are you able to enjoy your relationships with friends and loved ones, travel to your dream destinations, be creative, have children, enjoy your wealth… you get the picture.
The Health Area is located in the center of your home or business.
You should take a look at this location if you are sick, want overall better health, or even if you just feel out of balance or run down.
We’re first going to cut out the bad before we add in the good.
Remove Figurative Cancers
In Feng Shui, you never want to put any tall columnar objects in the center of your home or office.
Tall columnar items can represent a tree that is digging into the earth or a metal rod digging out the earth. Think of these types of objects like a shovel, both uprooting and disturbing the earth.
For instance, tall metal or wood bookshelves or tall lamps could be dangerous to your health in this area.
When buying or remodeling a home, please stay away from spiral staircases regardless of their location in the house. No other object can drain Chi energy faster.
A spiral staircase is like a drill that uproots everything in its path. In this case, it is the energy in your home or business, and especially the particular Gua where it is located. Having one in your Health Area… yikes!
Clean the Clutter!
As with all of the areas of a home or office, the Health Area in Feng Shui should be absolutely free of clutter.
Make sure you have a clear pathway to get around.
Think of the Health Gua to be like the body’s heart and circulatory system. It moves blood and fluids to our other appendages and organs (the other various Guas).
You don’t want all the trash and junk blocking energy from freely moving throughout your home, just as you wouldn’t want calcification deposits to block blood from moving through your arteries and veins.
If all else fails in Feng Shui, please do try to keep the house clutter-free as this is the most effective and lowest cost thing you can do for your health.
Do this before adding any elements and colors to your Health Gua and before you even think about boosting the other areas of the Bagua, regardless of how much you desire to improve other areas of your life like wealth or fertility.
Helpful to Health
The primary element of the Health section in Feng Shui is earth, so freely decorate with earth in mind.
To apply this, place a short potted plant in a ceramic pot. You could also hang a painting or picture of a mountain in the Health Area to improve or maintain good health.
You can also put some fire elements here because fire helps to create earth.
Little candles in the center of your coffee table or dining table would work just fine.
Colors representative of earth include earth tones, yellow, and gold.
So, yellow daisies in a white ceramic vase can help brighten up your room, as well as your spirits.
Aside from the Helpful People & Travel corner, religious objects in the Health Gua would be your next best choice.
Therefore, if you have a bedroom in the Helpful People & Travel corner of your house, place those religious objects in the Health area instead to ensure you are well-rested.
Think of the religious objects as watching over your health, which is more valuable than anything in the world you can buy.
