New Year’s Feng Shui
Happy New Year!!!
New Years is one of the most important holidays, in my opinion.
The New Year gives many people a sense of new beginning and they make resolutions to make changes in their lives.
So, why not help keep those resolutions with Feng Shui?
We know that everything is energy and that is what Feng Shui is all about.
Home Recharge
You are a ball of energy and your home consists of energy, or Chi.
This is the place where you go to recharge and get ready to take on the next day or the next year.
So, why not make your home the best possible recharging station that it can be for you?
Clutter-Free Your Home
You should really start by cleaning out the clutter.
This is the time to throw out the Christmas tree, old boxes, and wrapping paper from the holidays.
Return, sell, or throw away the things that you don’t (or won’t) need and anything you did not use in past six months.
Space Clearing
Once your house goes through a decluttering process, you might want to do a space clearing, as well.
You can do this with incense or with sound (like ringing a bell throughout your house).
Space clearing with Feng Shui helps to let go of any negative energy and brighten your home with positive energy.
Attract Chi
Now look around and see if your home is ready to receive or attract the “right” energy for you this year.
Do you want to advance in your career? Find a new love? Start a family? Travel?
Your home should reflect your dreams and wishes.
Perhaps a picture or travel guide to a place you want to travel to or picture of a dream home, for instance.
Likewise, you could make a list of qualities you want to find in your mate.
The possibilities are endless!
This is the time to fill out your “resolution”, or your life order list, to the Universe.
Be mindful of the quality of energy your home represents.
Next Steps
If you are not happy with what you see, you are not going to be happy with what you get this year.
So, start the new year on the right note by making your home look and feel the way you want to feel!
Good Feng Shui for the new year means a home that is warm and welcoming of all the good things to come.
Have fun starting the New Year off right!

Feng Shui T-Intersection Cure / Front Door Cure
The Feng Shui for a house on a T-intersection or for a home with a front door lining up with a neighbor’s front door can be quite overwhelming with negative energy, or Chi.
I have a previous blog post that goes into more details why a T-intersection is so dangerous. I won’t re-hash those issues here.
Fortunately, there are cures for a home on a T-intersection!
Convex Bagua Mirror Cure
The simplest Feng Shui cure for houses like this is a convex bagua mirror.
Just hang it above your front door facing the street with the intention of reflecting all the bad Chi out before it even has a chance to come into the house.
If you don’t want it to be seen from the outside of the house, then you can still hang it from inside of the house above the doorway.
Either way, be sure the reflective side of the mirror is facing out to the street or the neighbor’s front door.
Yes, if the mirror is inside of your house, you won’t actually see the reflection when you look at the bagua because the reflective part of the mirror will be against the wall.
Even though the actual objects are not being reflected by the mirror, you are still reflecting the Chi, so it will work fine.
Next Steps
Remember, T-intersections and front doors lining up can be a serious problem in Feng Shui.
Don’t ignore them!
While the above is a quick cure, it won’t necessarily provide long-term benefits to those living on a T-intersection. Read about more lasting Feng Shui cures on my cul-de-sac post, which also applies to T-intersections.
If this simple cure doesn’t seem to work, even short-term, there may be more Feng Shui factors involved with your particular home.

Feng Shui Art: Paintings and Pictures
What do the pictures and paintings in your house say about you?
When you look around your house, does your artwork represent you?
Does the artwork reflect who you are?
More importantly, do they make you feel like and be the person you want to be?
Do they make you feel happy, vibrant, filled with life, full of love, excited, creative and successful?
Or do they say that you’re alone, stressed out, and struggling?
Moving Forward
Most of the time, the artwork you have represents who you are now or were before.
And is that what you want to be?
If you are happy exactly how you are, then that is great!
Something New
But, if you feel like you are always living paycheck to paycheck, not getting any respect from your coworkers or from friends and family, then something has to change.
If this is the case, see if you have any artwork that might make you feel that way.
Third-Person Perspective
Most of the time, you will love the artwork and feel like you are “in” the artwork.
So, you likely won’t notice it. But, if you were to ask a third-party to look at it, will they see something else?
Waves on the Lighthouse
When I met my husband, he had a picture of a lighthouse with a giant wave ready to crash down on it in the career section of his house.
He was a salesman, and for a salesman to be seen as being out there in the sea all by himself, waves crashing down on him all the time, it’s got to be stressful.
And yes, he was all alone in his career and felt overwhelmed.
In fact, my husband now has one of these paintings with a dragon in the wealth corner of his office.
Next Steps
So, look around you and see what your art speaks about you. Better yet, have someone else tell you what they see.
For more in-depth information, please read up on Feng Shui and how different areas of your life are impacted by what you do with various areas of your home or office.
